The festival of Krishna Janamastami is the celebration of Krishna's birthday. Sri Krishna was born in 'Rohini' nakshatram to King Vasudeva and Devaki devi on the eighth day of the dark fourteen days of the month Sravana. The festival always falls in mid-August to mid September in the Gregorian calendar. The festival is also known as Sri Krishna Jayanti and Krishnashtmi.
