Ryan Mallett was born on 5 June 1988, with the nickname "Big Tex", is an American football quarterback for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Mallett spent his first year at the University of Michigan. Mallett attended the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in 2007 and won the Glenn Davis Army Award as the best player on the West team.
Mallett departure from Michigan was widely expected after the new head coach Rich Rodriguez was hired to replace outgoing coach Lloyd Carr. Mallett enrolled at the University of Arkansas, where he red shirted the 2008 season due to NCAA transfer policy.
Mallett began his career as an Arkansas Razorback, led by head coach Bobby Petri no. Mallett was also punished by coach Petri no with the early wake-up, and extra running, and early curfews.
